Match Overview
Radcliffe Town Girls U14 secured a phenomenal 3-2 victory over Cherrybrook 2 in what was a true test of character, stamina, and grit. The defining narrative of the game was the sheer determination of the Radcliffe side, who had to fight incredibly hard for the full duration with only 10 players on the pitch. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the team dug deep, outworking their opponents across every blade of grass to secure a thoroughly deserved three points.
Key Moments
The attacking display was clinical, producing three fantastic goals that highlighted the team's quality in the final third. Olivia was in lethal form, finding the back of the net twice to secure a brilliant brace. Evie T also added her name to the scoresheet with a superb strike that proved crucial to the final result. Beyond the goals themselves, the absolute highlight of the game was watching the girls seamlessly translate their drills and tactical work from Friday's training session directly into a live match environment.
Looking Ahead
After such a monumental physical effort, our immediate focus in the next session will be on recovery, while continuing to build upon the excellent tactical foundation and passing rhythms shown today. We will look to replicate the same intensity and focus in training so we can carry this fantastic momentum into our next fixture.
From the Touchline
"The coaching staff could not be prouder of the attitude and relentless work rate displayed today. Playing a player down requires immense tactical discipline, communication, and fitness, and the squad delivered on all fronts. Seeing the Friday evening training session come to life on the pitch today was incredibly rewarding and shows how much the team is developing. The collective effort was outstanding, and the match awards rightfully recognise two players who anchored the team's success today:
Coaches' Player of the Match: Olivia and Belle
Parents' Player of the Match: Belle
Players' Player of the Match: Olivia"
