Match Overview
A very well-deserved 2-0 win today, with the girls playing some fantastic football between them from start to finish. That makes it two wins out of two games played, getting our season off to an incredibly positive start.
Key Moments
Evie T and Ariella both found the back of the net with two great goals—Ariella's reaction to scoring her goal was absolutely brilliant! The wingers really got stuck in all game, and even the referee had nothing but praise for the team, mentioning that the girls were amazing and the scoreline really should have been much higher in our favour.
Looking Ahead
Next up is Mossbank, and we know this match won't come as easily as the last two weeks have. We need to work hard in training on Friday, where our main focus will be adapting our game to a full-sized pitch and ensuring we are ready to put in the extra leg work required to track back and defend in bigger spaces.
From the Touchline
"The defence was on fire all match, playing a brilliant line and adapting perfectly to the smaller pitch by sitting at a great depth to sweep everything up. The midfield put together some excellent passages of play, and their tracking back was much improved. It was incredibly difficult to make substitutions today because every single player got stuck in and showcased real individual talent. A huge well done to our award winners: Charlie (Player's Player), Maisy (Parents' Player), and Faye (Coach's Player)."
